6hD&D ambience for your session
A good tabletop ambience does not get noticed: it sets the place and lets itself be forgotten while the players talk. Our tavern, village, forest and ship ambiences run four to eight hours without a cut, at a level that stays under the voices, so a whole session passes without touching the volume.
They were made for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and any tabletop or online game, but also for writing and for video games. The realms of Sonaë give you a coherent world to draw from: the corsair harbors of Harborya, the hearth villages of Medianor, the crystal labyrinth of Cirquelis.

Building the soundtrack of a session
One ambience per scene is enough: the tavern for the meeting, the forest for the journey, the storm at sea for the crossing, the crystal cave for the dungeon, the fireplace inn for the rest. Open them in advance in separate tabs and switch when the scene changes. Our D&D ambience guide goes through a full evening.
Volume and mixing
Set the volume just under the voices. Cut the music for tense scenes and keep only the sound of the place; in the Sound Studio each sound has its own fader, so you can bring up the storm or the crowd at the right moment. On Discord, play it from a bot or share the tab audio, never a microphone.
In practice
- One ambience per place, opened in advance.
- Volume under the voices; music off for tension.
- Prepare three stops with the Journey Forge.

Frequently asked questions
Which ambience for a D&D tavern?
The pirate tavern of Harborya for a harbor town, the hearth inn of Medianor for a village. Both have a fire, distant chatter and the weather outside, and both run for hours.
Can I use these ambiences online, on Discord?
Yes. Share the tab audio or use a music bot with the YouTube link. Keep it low: what works in a room is too loud over voice chat.
Are there dungeon or combat ambiences?
Dungeons, yes: crystal caves, ruins, storms at sea. For combat, most tables prefer the ambience without music; the Sound Studio lets you mute it in one click.
